Babes in the Wood is a small family-run nursery based in Stonehaven.

We are open from 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. We close for two weeks over Christmas/New Year, one day for April weekend and one day for May day weekend.

The nursery is registered with the Care Inspectorate formerly known as SCSWIS or Care Commission and is regularly monitored in accordance with the National Care Standards and Regulation of Care.

The nursery is located right next to Arduthie Primary School and is convenient for all areas of Stonehaven.

Our Mission Statement

Babes in the Wood aims to help children become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society.

Children will learn through their play with a balance of free choice and adult led experiences. The curriculum will be responsive to the needs and abilities of each and every child and will be provided for them in a safe, caring environment in partnership with their parents and their community.

We follow the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and the Pre-Birth to Three curriculums in our setting. These curriculums are the same as the ones taught in schools thus allows all the children an equal start when it comes to progressing on to Primary school.

Our Classes

At Babes we have three classes; the Jelly Babies who consist of our youngest wee toots aged 0 to 2, the Jelly Tots who are our 2-3 year olds and lastly our Jelly Beans who are aged 3-5.
